Probabilmente posso essere definita una sognatrice.
Anzi posso essere definita una boccalona, una di quelli che sente delle belle parole e se la beve credendo che sia ancora possibile cambiare il mondo.
Non ho mai parlato di politica su questo blog, forse perchè in politica io ho le idee troppo confuse, non guardo ai partiti, guardo alle idee e questo è un gran problema se avete una mentalità di destra con idee etico-morali di sinistra, credetemi è un bel problema quando si è dentro un seggio elettorale e non si sa a che santo votarsi.
Ma comunque non è di politica italiana che voglio parlare, o forse sì visto che ho appena sentito il buon Walter Veltroni pronunciare un discorso che ricalcava, con ben poca convinzione, l’ormai celebre Yes We Can di Barack Obama.
Già ed è questa la differenza che il politico d’oltreoceano forse per incantare le folle, forse no ha pronunciato quel discorso con foga e convinzione, secondo me credendoci davvero, perchè per come la vedo io gli Americani nei loro ideali ci credono, e invece il nostro politico del bel paese la convinzione l’aveva lasciata dell’altro vestito, probabilmente.
Non vuol essere una critica solo a lui, ci mancherebbe, se avessi tempo e voglia potrei criticare dal primo all’ultimo tutti gli appartenenti a quella classe politica italiana che il New York Post, o forse il New York Times, ha classificato come credo la peggiore del mondo.
Ma non sto scrivendo questo post per questo, lo sto scrivendo perchè avevo voglia di farlo, già, avevo voglia di parlare di qualcosa e ultimamente in Italia o parli di politica o parli di politica tra il nostro sputtanamento del Governo e le elezioni Americane…
Non sono qui per fare grandi riflessioni, non credo di essere in grado di farle, scadrei nel banale, credo, dicendo quanto trovo patetica la nostra classe politica e quanto, troppo spesso, io mi vergogni di essere italiana, sono qui perchè ho riletto il discorso di Obama, sì quello su cui hanno anche fatto una canzone, e, credulona come sono, mi piacerebbe davvero tanto vedere qui in Italia un politico pronunciare un discorso così, ma soprattutto mi piacerebbe vedere un politico qui in Italia capace di dire queste cose credendoci davvero.
Aspetta e spera, direi.

But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.

Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea.
