| Jonny Was, started as a 3 piece formed by Shane West
in 1998, and took California by surprise with their witty true-to-life
music. They got off to a good start gaining popularity with the success
of Shane's film "A Walk To Remember," co-staring with pop-star
Mandy Moore. Also, Shane later on landed a role alongside Sean Connery
in "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen," as well as a regular
spot on hit t.v. show "E.R." All the fame contributed by each
of these roles enabled Jonny Was to destroy and conquer various venues
around Los Angeles and Orange County.
Fast forward to early 2005, Jonny Was kicked off the year with the announcement
of their transformation to a 5 piece band. Inclusive of lead singer and
guitarist Shane West; Brett Klorer of Hollywood Endings, Mind Driver,
and Dekker on guitar; Casey McGuire of Hollywood Endings, Beauty School
Dropouts, Dekker, and Weir on keyboards; Matt Jefferson of Hollywood Endings,
Up Syndrome, and The Middle on bass. With a sound of dynamism and all
the pawn in place, Jonny Was is preparing for battle.
Powerful lyrics, enchanting harmonies, and a bond between the members
unlike any other band on the scene, lead to their rapidly growing fan
base and well deserved attention. Feats including sold out venues all
over California, an appearance on VH1 and t.v. show E.R., and songs on
soundtracks for hit movies "A Walk To Remember," and "Bringing
Down The House."
Recent developments of Jonny Was encompass a brand new E.P. set to hit
your local music store soon, and a tour of the West Coast in the making.
